Despite what people think about eggs, they are actually superfoods, and should be incorporated into our diets.

Due to this single fact, they have the following proven healthy benefits.

  1. Eggs improve our eyes- Two nutrients present in eggs are Lutein and Zeaxanthin, these two are so powerful that can build up in the retina of the eye, thereby improving the health of the eyes. Studies show that they are able to reduce the chances of contacting cataracts and macular degeneration. The ability of eggs to influence the eyes can be attributed to the high amount of Vitamin A present in them, the deficiency of this is said to be the most common cause of blindness in the world. Lack of this vitamin can cause eye problems.

  2. Cholesterol in eggs do not negatively affect the body's cholesterol-  Contrary to what most people preach, the cholesterol found in eggs does not affect the body, studies show that this is because our lives produce their own doses of  cholesterol every day. The cholesterol found in eggs can only negatively affect people with diseases like diabetes.

  3. High in protein- Eggs are high in protein, also the protein in eggs is in just the right quantity for the daily recommended dose.

  4. Weight loss- Due to how filling eggs are, they help in preventing people from eating too much, thereby causing weight loss.

  5. Builds cell membranes- Eggs contain a very nutrient called choline, this is used to build cell membranes and produce signalling molecules in the brain.

  6. Contains lots of nutrients - Eggs are very nutritious, this is why they are called superfoods. An egg contains Vitamin A, Folate, Vitamin B5, Vitamin B12, Vitamin B2, Phosphorus, Selenium, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin K, Vitamin B6, Calcium and Zinc.
