VEGETABLE SAUCE

For a family of 5: As vegetables are essential to a healthy lifestyle, it’s only right we start with a meal that is rich in vegetables.

Ingredients

8 pieces of Goat meat

½ cup of Grand Pure Soya Oil

½ cup of Prawns

8 Fresh tomatoes

4 Red bell pepper (tatashe)

a bunch of Spinach

Spices

Preparation

Cut meat into little chunks, spice, cook and set aside.

Add a tablespoon of Grand pure soya oil, onions, diced tomatoes, prawns and tatashe.

Add the spices.

When cooked, add the goat meat and spinach.

Put off the light close the pot and allow the heat to finish the process.

Ready to serve

SAVORY PANCAKE AND SAUCE

For a family of 5:  Pancakes are fast becoming a staple breakfast in these parts. It is easy to prepare, hearty and versatile. Here is a recipe for a savory pancake that you are sure to fall in love with.

Ingredients

¼ kg of Flour

3 teaspoonful of granulated Sugar

Pinch of salt

½ cup of Milk

4 Eggs

½ cup of Warm water

¼ cup of Grand Pure Soya Oil

Preparation

Pancake:

-Mix flour, sugar, pinch of salt, milk together in a bowl,

-Pour in egg, (already beaten and mixed in warm water) and mix well.

-Fry in bits with little Grand pure soya oil in a non-stick pan.

Ingredients for the sauce

5 Carrots

a tin of Green Beans

4 tubers of Irish Potatoes

5 pieces of Sausage

2 Green Peppers

¼ cup of Grand Pure Soya Oil

Preparation for the sauce

Cut the vegetables (carrot, green beans, Irish potatoes, sausage, green pepper in cube shape

Steam with a little Grand pure soya oil and seasoning for 3 minutes on medium to high heat

FRIED SPAGHETTI: For a family of 6

Ingredients

2 packs of Spaghetti

½ spoonful of Curry

5 pieces of Carrot

2 sticks of Spring onion ‎

3 Green peppers

I tin of Baked Beans

I tin of Peas

3 Stock cubes

1½ spoonful of Grand Pure Soya Oil

Salt to taste

Preparation ‎

Parboil spaghetti with salt and curry and set aside in a sieve

Then cut your carrots to cubes, spring onion green pepper, green beans and peas

Heat one and one-half spoonful of Grand pure soya oil and add the carrots and remaining ingredients into it to fry a little bit

Add curry salt and stock cube to taste and pepper

Add the parboiled spaghetti mix together and that's‎ all‎

CHICKEN SOUP WITH POTATOES: For a family of 4

Ingredients

8 tubers of Potatoes

¼ cup of Grand Pure Soya Oil

1 clove of Garlic

1 root of Ginger

Seasoning

1 bulb of Onions

3 Green and red pepper

Scotch bonnet

4 Tomatoes

1 tin of Peas

Preparation

Either roast, cook or fry the potato in your desired shape.

Wash chicken and place in a large pot, add water, garlic, ginger, seasoning and onions. Bring to boil.

In a separate pot, pour the Grand pure soya oil, add onion and ginger and fry.

Add sliced green and red pepper, scotch bonnet, tomatoes and fry till dry.

Add your stock and chicken. You can debone or leave it.

Cook, add carrots and peas when almost done.

TOMATO PLANTAIN SAUCE: For a family of 2

The use of plantain has indeed evolved, plantain use no longer ends with just frying or roasting.

Today, plantain is being inclusively used in many recipes. In fact, it is the key ingredient in many recipes and we just love them all.

Ingredients

Two medium size very ripe plantains

5 Fresh tomatoes or a tin of tomato paste

3 Fresh pepper (chopped)

1 Clove of Garlic (crushed)

1 bulb of Onions (chopped)

½ cup of Grand Pure Soya Oil

2 Black fishes

A bundle of Nchawu (scent leaves)

Stock cubes and salt to taste

Preparation

Cut plantain into small bits and put in a pot.

Add sliced onions, one stock cube, pour in about half a litre of water and bring to boil for about 10 minutes until plantain is soft and has absorbed the stock cube taste.

Drain out water to remove the remaining peel from the plantain

Add little Grand pure soya oil to an empty pot, add chopped onion, garlic, pepper and tomatoes and allow to fry until the oil rises to the top.

In the case of tomato paste, be sure to add it after onions and fry properly until the sour taste goes.

Add cooked plantain, add washed and pieced black fish, pour in water and cover pot to simmer‎ for 10 minute.

Add picked and sliced nchawu leaves

Add salt to taste.

Leave for two minutes and bring down from fire.

Serve with white rice or eat alone.

Note: This plantain tomato sauce should be thicker than tomato stew but lighter and spicier than plantain porridge.

SHRIMP SUYA:For a family of 8

Suya is that cool road side spicy shish kebab meat every Nigerian has had a piece of, it is almost like a part of growing up, and there is no child hood memory in Nigeria without Suya. This special recipe made mostly by men from the Northern part of the country, the Hausa people of Northern Cameroon, Niger and some part of Sudan, is so popular, that it is almost impossible not to see a suya stand in any street in Nigeria

Ingredients

2 spoonful of Grounded Pepper

1 root of Ginger

1 clove of Garlic

Seasoning

Salt to taste

¼ cup of Grand Pure Soya Oil

2 cups of Shrimps

• Preparation:

Mix grounded pepper, ginger, garlic, salt, seasoning cubes in a little ‎Grand pure soya oil

Use fingers or brush to rub over defrosted shrimp leave for at least 10minutes to marinate

Get the grill ready and grill to desired taste.
