Knowing that you are getting married is a good feeling for both the groom and bride, however, planning towards that big moment is capable of draining all the joy and happiness between a couple.

Though arguing while planning for a wedding is normal, the fighting can be avoided.

The following are the most common fights couples have about the big day, and how to avoid them.

  1. Money- These days, weddings are pretty expensive, thereby involving a lot of money, so, it is quite normal for a couple to fight over how much to spend on what. In order to avoid this particular fight, set a realistic budget and keeping careful track of your spending. Besides, no one wants to start off their married life in debt, so, try not to overspend.                                                                                                                      money

  2. The Guest List- Surprisingly, a lot of couples bicker over this, because figuring out how many people to invite is such a big deal, the parents get involved in the fight too. The solution is for you and your fiancé to agree, and then speak to the parents about what you want for the wedding. guest list

  3. Religion- This is a major issue because a lot of families are usually sensitive about this. It is quite common, especially in Nigeria, to hear the parents stop their children from getting married due to a difference in religion, this just shows how big a deal this subject is. There is simply no easy way out of this, but the couple can try getting their parents to agree on a religion or have two wedding ceremonies where both faiths are represented. Another solution is to stick to the old rule which is to get married in the woman's church/religion.

  4. The Groom’s Involvement- While some grooms show no interest whatsoever in the wedding plans, others want to be involved in every aspect of the day. Whichever way he swings, it can be a problem for the bride. The solution is to meet somewhere in the middle, if he is not interested at all, then look for fun things you can do together, and if he is too interested, then get him to compromise.groom

  5. Exes- This, surprisingly, is another reason why couples fight. What usually happens is that either the bride or groom may have an ex they are on good terms with and might want at the wedding. This usually makes the other person question the relationship and thus a fight is born. In order to prevent this particular fight, just keep the exes away.
