The Knot, a wedding magazine celebrated Valentine's Day by breaking the Guinness World Records achievement for World's Largest Champagne Tasting with 518 attendees.

The participants included engaged and married couples who used The Knot to plan their weddings, New York City tech start-ups, members of the Downtown Alliance and all those who wanted to take part in breaking the record.

According to the World Record Academy, the event took place at the newly unveiled Fulton Centre, an iconic backdrop in lower Manhattan in New York City, where attendees gave a toast to love and Valentine's Day, setting the new world record for the Largest Champagne Tasting.
The Guinness World Records' record for the most champagne corks popped simultaneously is 2,778 and was achieved on Banca Mediolanum25th Anniversary's toast, at BPA Palas in Pesaro, Italy, on October 26, 2007.

Also, the Guinness World Records recognized the world record for the largest champagne tasting event; it consisted of 515 participants and was achieved by Eurostar International on a London-to-Paris Eurostar train on October 9, 2014.
Commenting on the historic event, The Knot's Executive Vice President of Marketing, Dhanusha Sivajee said: "In the 18 years since The Knot launched, we helped inspire approximately 25 million couples during their wedding planning process."
Sivajee added: "To celebrate this milestone and Valentine's Day, we invited everyone who loves love, including many of the couples we serve today and throughout our 18-year history, to raise a glass and break a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS® record for the World's Largest Champagne Tasting."
