It is a norm worldwide that the man in the relationship caters to the needs of the woman. This ranges from footing the basic billls to handling different aspects of their relationship. Consequently, many tend to feel reluctant when certain duties which they are to handle, are taken up by the woman, or her people.

Weddings happen to be one of such responsibilities that many men believe they should handle. Whether a matter of pride or simply to start from the onset to prove their 'Manhood', a lot of men would not willingly allow their brides or her people to handle the expenses of their first event together as man and wife.

Based on modernization and a cultural integration though, many people are starting to relax on the focus on the man as the sole provider. In many cases they even encourage the woman to hoist some responsibilities on herself too. With the current economic state of things worldwide, who can blame them.

Now considering possible implications of it, a lot of people believe the man should at least be able to handle the expenses of the wedding, otherwise how would he prove he can take care of his family?
