Most wedding trends are inspired by the everyday world we live in, and it's really nice that brides and grooms are embracing these new ideas, and challenging tradition in the process.

Wedding planners are constantly looking out for new trends in bridal fashion, decor, beauty, catering and event design.

Here are four wedding trends that are becoming popular around the world this year:

  1. Flash tattoos: It's common to see revelers sporting these temporary metallic tattoos at pool parties, festivals and even beach vacations. Slowly but surely, it has crept into the wedding fashion scene. The henna-like flash tattoos are very easy to apply, wash off and add the perfect amount edge and shimmer to your look. Though this trend is more common for the rocker or boho bride, it can also fit in with any bridal style.

  2. Two-piece wedding dress: The crop top has somehow found its way into bridal fashion, and more brides are tapping into this daring trend. The two-piece gown definitely makes a bold statement about your style and taste as a bride, and works best when you only show skin just below your rib cage but above your belly button. However, this ensemble is suitable for a bride who isn't afraid or feels comfortable to show a little skin.

  3. Ear cuffs: Recent award shows have revealed that ear cuffs are the celebrity accessory of choice. Instead of the traditional dangling earrings or sparkling studs, brides are now going for ear cuffs. It's quite edgy and glam, and complements different bridal looks.

  4. White bridesmaid gowns: Gone are the days when white is a colour reserved for the bride alone on her wedding day. These days, bridesmaids are also rocking white dresses alongside the bride. This trend is not only feminine, but very chic and fresh, and works best when each of the bridesmaids wear different styles and include different mix of fabrics and textures like silk, lace or cotton.
