The 37-yr-old human rights lawyer is rumored to be looking for a platinum band instead, over fears that her expensive ring is too flashy for her job.
Lebanese-British Amal who married Clooney in September 2014, and currently working on high-profile cases around the world felt the ring with a huge diamond rock might reduce the seriousness of her work.
She was part of the legal team that defended Maldivian President Mohamed Nasheed, represented controversial Ukraine leader Yulia Tymoshenko and worked with the Greek government to secure the repatriation of the Elgin marbles.
Amal who works for Doughty Street Chambers, has told friends she wants a more understated engagement ring specifically for when she’s working on serious cases.
“People constantly stop her and admire it for a closer look. It is a massive rock and there is no hiding it.”
“She absolutely loves the ring and won’t be getting rid of it but she just wants something simpler for her big cases,” a source told Mirror UK.
She has been with the ring since April 2014 after her superstar husband proposed.
For the couple’s wedding ring, Amal chose a diamond-encrusted band while George opted for a plain one.
