When talk of a royal wedding is begun around you now, it is easy to think only of that  2011 wedding between Prince William and his bride, Kate Middleton.

It is just totally understandable given how that wedding had all the ingredient of a great royal wedding - pomp, flash, luxury, media following... everything.

Even the bride's dress gathered enough attention on its own because it was something truly grand and totally deserving of royalty.

But was Kate's dress the greatest in the history of royal weddings?

What makes this dress a wonder is the amount of time put into creating it.

The duchess reportedly had Dutch designers Victor & Rolf spend 600 hours creating the silk gown, and adorning it with 248 handmade bows!

The ivory-silk, taffeta and lace confection was designed by husband and wife team David and Elizabeth Emanuel. It was embroidered with more than 10,000 pearls and and included a massive, 25-foot train. She looked straight out of a fairytale!
