Abuja drivers have called off their two-day strike

While the strike was on, Uber drivers in Abuja did not complete trips to and from the airport - apparently, most of the drivers went offline resulting in a permanent surge that lasted the two-day duration of the strike.

An Uber partner has since taken to Twitter to announce that partners and drivers are back on the road, adding that they are still waiting for Uber's response to their call for dialogue.

The partner stated that the strike was called off in a bid to create the right atmosphere for Uber and the partners to each reevaluate their priorities.

He also asked Uber to re-activate drivers who's accounts had been deactivated during the strike.

He also admitted that the current situation was not sustainable for either party, reminding Uber that the driver's requests are completely reasonable.

The entire situation seems to lack any certain direction but Uber could be doing more to handle the situation - the company announced Red Media Africa (owners of YNaija) as its official PR agency, last week.
