The 58th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will take place next week, and people watching this year's edition at home will get a rather unique perspective.

The iconic golden-horned Grammy awards themselves, will have cameras built into their bases.

This means that viewers will be able to catch views that only the Grammy trophy will be able to 'see', including on-stage shots and more.

The footage captured from the cameras will be streamed online to Grammy Live, which is a pre-event feed that starts hours before the main show itself.

In addition, the producers of the live Grammy show  broadcast on American TV network CBS, will have the option to use the 'grammycam' clips as they see fit.

Engadget reports that each of the awards will be fitted with a disassembled GoPro camera which will capture the visuals.

The components of the camera have already been modified to beam the feed on a RF frequency to a broadcast truck where all the camera angles, including the online stream, are being managed.

The main challenge on the night will be the battery life of the cameras because since each unit is battery-powered, it will only have a limited supply of power for the 3-hour event.

Tune in on February 15th to see how the footage turns out, I'll bet that it will be very interesting to see.
