Tech stakeholders, startup investors will be in Port Harcourt for 2nd edition

Leading stakeholders in Nigeria’s evolving tech ecosystem and startup investors will meet with their counterparts from different sectors of Nigeria’s business community in Port Harcourt come November 10, 2016.

#Startupsouth is the premier startup event targeting the South-South and South-East region. Its goal is to provide learning opportunities, networking exposure and attract funding for founders and startups active in the 11 States that make up these two regions. The theme for the 2016 gathering is “Tech As Business Enabler.”

#StartupSouth2 will feature panel discussions, fireside chats with outstanding startup founders, including Gossy Ukanwoke of BAU R&D, Simeon Ononobi of Simplepay, Editi Effiong of Anakle, Marek Zmyslowski of HotelOga and others. Special features also include a startup pitch and an invite only networking dinner with special guests.

Other expected special guests and speakers include the DG of NITDA – Dr. Ibrahim Patanmi, Izobe Spiff of Tres Bien Events, Olaotan Towry-Coker of Afritickets.com, Funke Tonye-Preghafi of Gifty’s Daughter, Ojo Akin-Longe of T&D Press, Osamede Evbakhavbokun of Gidimall.com, and Lexi Novitske of Singularity Investment.

In a statement, Uche Aniche – The founder of VenueHero.co and Chief Convener of #StartupSouth said: “#StartupSouth is an effort to create awareness for the emerging tech ecosystem in the South-South and South-East. We desire to encourage more youths to take to technology, to discourage criminality, and attract investment to the regions outside Oil & Gas.”
