Explosions or not, tech giant could still release the Galaxy Note 8 in 2017

Previously, rumours have made rounds that Samsung was only going to release only one flagship in 2017.

Samsung Galaxy Note 7

Previously, rumours have made rounds that Samsung was only going to release only one flagship in 2017 while the Note 8 would also be released but under a different name.

But Samsung is now offering an update program for South Korean Galaxy Note 7 users in which users can replace their Note 7's with a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge.

Next year, those users will also have the opportunity to upgrade to a Galaxy S8 or the Galaxy Note 8. The upgrade will not be completely free - users will have to pay half the price of the S7 or S7 Edge.

That is how Samsung has lowkey confirmed that it will not be discontinuing the Note name which shows that the company is doing all within its power to repair the damage that the exploding Note 7 has caused.

Rumours around what the Note 8 will look like suggesting that the device will come with an S-Pen that will also have a speaker. Those rumours also say the Galaxy S8 will have a 4K curved super AMOLED display with batteries that will be sourced from LG.
