28-year old Nick Johnson says he has caught all available Pokémon in the US

Pokémon world with the real world, and it has people all over the world tripping over themselves to achieve one goal: catch 'em all.

A Brooklyn man is claiming to be the first person to catch all 142 species of Pokémon available in the US. "You want to catch 'em all and become a Pokémon master, [it's] the childhood dream, but it never really occurred to me I might be the first one to do it until I got pretty close," says the man, Nick Johnson, according to CNN.

Pokémon Go was released in the US on July 6, 2016 and Johnson says he caught 135 Pokémon within a week and a half of that date. Johnson says once he realized how close he was to catching all the available ones, he figured he might as well go all the way.

Speaking to CNN, Johnson says he caught them all in exactly two weeks. He says he made the final capture just after midnight on July 21 in New York's Central Park, a very popular spot for Pokémon hunters.

28-year old Johnson says despite having some sleepless nights and spending some full days on "Poké walks," playing the game has not really affected his life. He says he works about 50 hours weekly at a startup called Applico.

There is yet to be confirmation from Nintendo and Triplepoint PR, the company representing Pokémon, on whether Johnson's claim hold any water.
