Event Kicks Off With Marketing Focus Day

The three-day Mobile West Africa event kicked off today at the Four Points By Sheraton Hotel on the island today.

 

Mobile West Africa has been the premier event for members of the tech community to meet, interact and share ideas for the advancement of technology in all its applications on the African continent.  The event has been holding over the last couple of years and is usually attended by the who-is-who of the mobile technology sector both in and outside Nigeria.

This years event kicked off today at the Four Points by Sheraton hotel, Victoria Island and featured talks, guest interaction, presentations, Q and A sessions amongst other activities.

It was attended by various Nigerian and foreign mobile media industry players including Tomiwa Aladekomo (Senior Digital Manager, Nigerian Breweries), Ameya Bhave (Product Head, Vconnect), Riccardo Pasqualotto (Founder, Mobi Hunter), Abas Idaresit (CEO, Wild Fusion) amongst others.

The opening day was tagged "Mobile Marketing West Africa Focus Day" - hosted by Mobi Hunter Agency - and featured various talks on topics ranging from feature phones, Proximity marketing, buying across Ad platforms to Programmatic advertising, environmental targeting, private market places for publishers and so on.

The focus day also featured  informative slide shows, demographics, statistics and general information on the mobile marketing landscape in Africa. The speakers also gave useful info and tips on mobile marketing strategies for the Nigerian market.

Guests were invited to Q and A sessions where they posited questions and received answers from the panel of judges which was made up of Pasqualotto, Idaresit, Modupe Ogunyemi (iConcepts) and Bhave.

The event continues Wednesday, 22nd April, 2015.
