Mobile network apologises to customers for service disruption
The network provider has apologised for difficulties faced by customers trying to use its SMS, data and voice services.
Customers of the mobile service formerly known as Etisalat Nigeria have been experiencing problems with the SMS, data and voice services of the network provider.
In the statement signed by 9mobile's Vice President, Regulatory and Corporate Affairs Lamis Dikko, he revealed that the hitch was caused by a network outage in one of its data centres.
"Subscribers may experience some disruption with voice, SMS and data services due to this technical issue."
Subscribers have been faced with network issues for almost three days.
Dikko said the issue was being rectified.
"Our technical teams are currently working assiduously to resolve the issue within the shortest possible time.
"We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused our subscribers and we thank them for their patience and understanding," he wrote in the statement.
9mobile, formerly known as Etisalat, announced its brand name change in July 2017 after months of attempted take-overs from a consortium of Nigerian banks which it owes a $1.2 billion loan.
