TECNO Mobile has awarded three N100,000 scholarships to three children from public schools in Lagos state in recognition of children's roles in the society.
According to reports, the company also distributed educational materials and stationeries to four selected schools; Ijaiye Okokoro Primary School, Tonia Primary School, Ebenezer Primary School, and Meiran Memorial School.
Tecno Marketing Executive, Richard Ugo, told Vanguard that children play a role in society and should be recognised.
“It is really inspiring that our kids who play significant part in the nation and are the physical representation of the nation’s growth are recognized," Ugo said.
He said the donations and scholarships are therefore an investment in the future.
“Tecno Mobile is investing in the future of Nigeria through its corporate social responsibility initiative, Give Children A Future.
"The big idea behind this initiative is to have a scholarship scheme, provide educational materials and stationeries to the selected public schools.
“For Tecno, it is about the future and they have showed they recognize these kids who are the future.”
He said Tecno was determined to support and secure education in the country and would extend the programme to other schools.
TECNO was the first dual SIM mobile phone brand to hit the market in Africa.
