He revealed that facilities have been put in place at the fledgling institution, adding that its Trauma Centre has already been accredited by the National Postgraduate College for residency training in orthopaedic and general surgery.
“We have put in place world-class facilities that have already received recognition from requisite professional bodies in the medical sciences,” Mimiko said.
The university, which is also the 40th state university in the country, is a specialized medical science institution, reputed to be the first of its kind in Nigeria and third in the African continent.
