Nigeria's First Lady, Aisha Buhari, has promised to ensure that every girl gets into school and advocate for legislation against child marriage.
Speaking at an interactive session to mark the International Day of the girl Child 2015, Buhari urged parents to let their female wards have at least 12 years of schooling.
“No single girl will be left behind in my movement to get every girl into school,” Buhari promised.
gathered that the President's wife was also inaugurated as the patron of the High Level Women Advocates for Girls Education in Nigeria.
The First Lady’s campaign is similar to the 'Let Girls Learn' global drive by America's First Lady, Michelle Obama, who vowed to give every female child in the world the same opportunity to be educated as herself and her daughters.
