How Delta Poly student kidnapped Miss Nigeria Int'l after posing as Dangote
Ifada and his 5-man gang of student kidnappers abducted beauty queen Miss Sa'adat Bibire for a M20m ransom. But he was caught before they could get the money.
Ifada and other members of the five man gang that kidnapped the beauty queen were recently paraded by the Lagos State Police Command.
Bibire, daughter of an aide to Kwara state Governor, was kidnapped by members of Ifada's gang about two weeks ago.
They had lured her to Warri under the pretext of making her the ambassador of the popular Dangote brand using a face 'Aliko Dangote' Facebook account.
On getting to Warri, Bibire was kidnapped and a ransom of N20 million was demanded from the family.
According to the Lagos state Police Commissioner, Umar Manko, who paraded the suspect alongside the wife of one of the suspects, the police began a manhunt after the kidnappers contacted the girls family and succeeded in arresting one (Ifada).
Ifada told Vanguard that he participated in the crime because of the money involved after he was "promised a huge sum."
"I accepted to join the gang because of the money involved. We opened a fake Facebook account pretending to be Alhaji Aliko Dangote and we convinced her to come over to Delta State to meet the businessman.
"At first, our ransom was N20 million.
"When they were not forthcoming with the money, we brought it down to N15 million and then N10 million. I was the one staying with the victim in our hideout."
The suspect further revealed that there were five members,, all DSPZ student, in the kidnapping gang.
"We are five in number and I was promised a huge sum. Other gang members are Destiny, Marcus Omajuwa, Ugada and Chuka.
"We are all students of Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro, ND 1. I was studying Computer Science."
He also added that they did not hurt the beauty queen.
"None of us raped her.
"Destiny told us we were only going to make money from her family, and not to assault her."
Other gang members are still on the run.
