Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was ruled out for Thursday's US Thanksgiving holiday matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers due to a concussion suffered in Sunday's 24-17 victory over Tennessee.

Because of the short span due to the holiday scheduling, Luck had only three days to pass the NFL's concussion test protocol, something only one NFL player this season has done in fewer than five days.

This season, Luck has completed 236 of 375 passes for 2,827 yards and 19 touchdowns with eight interceptions while being sacked 35 times. Luck has also run the ball 51 times for 246 yards and a touchdown.

Scott Tolzien, a long-time backup at Green Bay, is expected to start against the Steelers with Stephen Morris activated from the practice squad Wednesday to stand in reserve.

At 5-5, the Colts are one game behind AFC South division leader Houston while the visiting Steelers, also 5-5, share the AFC North division lead with Baltimore.
