Shots were said to have been fired at a car in Paris just hours before riders are due to arrive for the conclusion of the Tour de France.
There were security concerns ahead of the final stage of the Tour de France on Sunday when police reportedly opened fire on a vehicle that tried to smash through barriers at the Place de la Concorde.
Shots were said to have been fired at a car with two occupants - who were apparently not injured - at 8am local time in Paris, where hundreds of thousands of spectators are set to gather to view the conclusion of the Tour.
The car was reported to have fled the scene, with police now attempting to track down the vehicle.
The riders are set to begin the final stage of this year's race at 16:15 local time (14:15 GMT) .
