Tom Brady led the New England Patriots past the Indianapolis Colts in the NFL on Sunday.

Brady has had a chip on his shoulder ever since his Deflategate suspension was overturned in the pre-season and he continued playing like it during the Patriots' latest win, a 34-27 victory to push their perfect start to 5-0.

Brady, who has been in MVP form in each of the Patriots' five wins, completed 23 of his 37 passes for three touchdowns.

The Colts, seeking revenge in their first meeting with the Patriots since a blowout in last year's AFC Championship game that started the controversy and resulted in Brady's four-game ban, started strong but ultimately fell flat at home against their nemesis.

Andrew Luck returned from a shoulder injury that sidelined him for two games and had three TDs and 312 yards.

The Cincinnati Bengals maintained their perfect start to the season, beating the Buffalo Bills 34-21.

Andy Dalton threw for 243 yards and three touchdowns as the Bengals improved to a 6-0 win-loss record.

The Denver Broncos also stayed unbeaten, but only just as they got past the Cleveland Browns 26-23.

Peyton Manning threw three interceptions and Brandon McManus kicked the crucial field-goal in overtime.

Cam Newton's late touchdown pass ensured the Carolina Panthers remained undefeated after a 27-23 win over the Seattle Seahawks.

Also unbeaten are the Green Bay Packers, who held on for a 27-20 victory against the San Diego Chargers.

Matt Prater kicked a 27-yard field-goal in overtime as the Detroit Lions claimed their first win of the campaign, edging the Chicago Bears 37-34.

The New York Jets improved to 4-1 with a 34-20 win against the Washington Redskins and the Pittsburgh Steelers overcame the Arizona Cardinals 25-13.

The struggling Kansas City Chiefs were beaten again, going down to the Minnesota Vikings 16-10, while the San Francisco 49ers overcame the Baltimore Ravens 25-20.

The Houston Texans claimed a 31-20 victory against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Miami Dolphins thrashed the Tennessee Titans 38-10.
