The Hurricanes have re-signed Otere Black to a two-year deal as they look to cover the expected loss of Beauden Barrett during the 2016 Super Rugby season.

All Black Barrett is likely to feature for New Zealand's Sevens side at the Rio Olympics.

His efforts at the Games are set to mean he misses part of the Hurricanes' campaign.

And the Super Rugby runners-up have re-signed Black, who had offers from elsewhere.

"I"ve always wanted to be a part of this club and it was awesome to be given a few opportunities this year," Black said.

"I loved every minute of it and am hoping for more to come over these next couple of years.

"It"s such an awesome environment to be immersed in and there"s a great bunch of guys here who all want to work for each other, so I"m really looking forward to remaining a part of that."

Black, 20, helped the New Zealand under-20s to the world championship in June and played four matches for the Hurricanes in 2015.
