Jo-Wilfried Tsonga's reward for his run to the Shanghai Masters final is a return to the world's top 10.

The Frenchman, the 2008 Australian Open runner-up, had a delayed start to the year due to injury but has been solid since returning.

For the first time since August last year, Tsonga is among the world's top 10.

He jumped five places to 10th in the rankings, with Kevin Anderson dropping out, after reaching the decider in China.

Tsonga remains a chance of qualifying for the ATP World Tour Finals, ninth in those standings with two of the eight places yet to be clinched.

The 30-year-old is set to play at the Erste Bank Open in Vienna, where he is the fourth seed.

In the WTA rankings, Angelique Kerber rose to seventh after her run to the final in Hong Kong.

Lucie Safarova slipped to ninth in the only other change to the top 10.
