Let's Make Adeal and Protectionist are out of the 2015 Melbourne Cup.
Last year's winner Protectionist has been ruled out of the Melbourne Cup due to a bone problem.
Trainer Kris Lees revealed the 2014 winner would need a six-month spell after pulling up lame following the Caulfield Cup.
"He pulled up really lame across his lumbar, back area on Sunday morning," Lees told RSN on Thursday.
"He's very tender. We sent him for scintigraphy, and that was done on Tuesday.
"He's come back with subchondral bone disease in all four fetlocks.
"So with the pain across his backside all secondary, he's basically got severe bruising in all four fetlocks.
"It's causing him to lose his action when he's under pressure."
Meanwhile, Let's Make Adeal was also ruled out after injuring a tendon.
