Seeds Mohamed Elshorbagy and Amr Shabana eased into the Tournament of Champions second round on Friday.

The Egyptian duo progressed without dropping a game in their respective encounters in New York City.

Elshorbagy, the top seed, breezed past American Todd Harrity 11-6 11-7 11-8.

The fourth-seeded defending champion Shabana was untroubled by Finn Olli Tuominen, winning 11-7 11-5 11-3.

Awaiting Elshorbagy in the second round is Switzerland's Nicolas Mueller, who overcame New Zealand's Campbell Grayson 9-11 11-3 11-4 11-9.

Shabana will meet Cameron Pilley after the Australian got past Egyptian Karim Abdel Gawad 12-10 11-13 11-8 12-10.

Spain's Borjan Golan staged the best comeback of the day to advance.

He eventually beat Malaysia's Ong Beng Hee 12-14 9-11 11-6 11-5 11-8 in one hour, 16 minutes.

Golan faces a man who also needed five games to win in the first round in Chris Simpson, with the Englishman edging Mexican Cesar Salazar 11-5 8-11 10-12 13-11 11-6.

Egypt's Tarek Momen was too good for England's Adrian Waller 11-5 11-7 14-12 and Indian Saurav Ghosal beat Scot Alan Clyne 11-7 11-5 12-10.
