Nigerian sprinter Divine Oduduru gave Usain Bolt a run for his money, finishing closely behind the Jamaican in the 200m Heat in Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Running in Heat 9, Oduduru finished second in a time of 20.34s while the winner, Bolt, ran a time of 20.28s.

Oduduru’s time of 20.34 is a new personal best for the Nigerian athlete. He is the reigning Nigerian 200m champion.

Another Nigerian, Tega Odele ran in the race but could not qualify.

 

In other Team Nigeria news, Tobi Amusan qualified for the semi-final of the women’s 100m Hurdles at Rio 2016 after finishing 5th in Heat 5 clocking 12.99s.
