Zimbabwe all-rounder Luke Jongwe is unlikely to feature in the upcoming series with India after sustaining head injuries in a car crash.
Zimbabwe's 15-man squad to take on India in Friday's first ODI has been shorn of all-rounder Luke Jongwe after the all-rounder sustained head injuries in a car crash.
The 20-year-old, who made his ODI bow against South Africa in 2014, had been included in Zimbabwe's training squad for the Harare fixtures.
"He sustained a deep cut on the left side of his forehead but luckily no fracture," team physiotherapist Anesu Mupotaringa said via Zimbabwe Cricket's official Facebook page.
"He won't be available from selection as he recovers from the injuries and he will be receiving daily dressing of the wound for the next seven days."
Craig Ervine is another notable absentee from Zimbabwe's squad. The left-handed batsman has failed to shake off a hamstring injury.
