After his impressive showing in Rio 2016 Olympic Games, Nigerian tennis star Aruna Quadri is set to play in the 2016 ITTF Men’s World Cup.
Quadri was impressive in Rio 2016, beating fifth-seeded player Chih-Yuan Chuang in the third round and German Boll Timo in the fourth to make it to the quarter-finals where he lost to world number one, Long Ma.
The 28-year-old has been included in the 20-man list for the Liebherr 2016 ITTF Men's World Cup to be held in Saarbrucken, Germany.
Quadri was invited to the tourney which holds in October 2016 as a result of his impressive performances at the Olympic Games.
The Oyo-State born player and the 19 others were also selected through Continental Cup qualification events throughout 2016.
China's newly crowned Olympic Champion and Men's World Cup defending Champion, Long also makes the list.
Three-time champion Vladimir Samsonov from Belarus and world number five, Dimitrij Ovtcharov will also compete in the tourney.
