There was a delay to the announcement of the 2022 Winter Olympic host city as problems with voting tablets prompted a revote.
Tension surrounding voting for the host city of the 2022 Winter Olympics stepped up a notch on Friday when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) was forced to call a revote due to apparent technical problems.
Members gathered in Kuala Lumpur at the 128th IOC session to make a choice between Beijing and Almaty.
Yet issues with the electronic tablets used for voting prompted the IOC to announce it did not "feel comfortable with the integrity of the vote".
A written ballot was duly arranged as the wait to discover the host city for 2022 went on.
Beijing is looking to become the first city to host Summer and Winter Games, while Almaty is hoping to bring the Olympics to Kazakhstan for the first time.
