China Acheru, Chairman, Main Organizing Committee of the event, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt on Friday.
He said the change of date was occasioned by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) scheduling of legislative re-run election in the state to Dec. 10.
“We are forced to alter our plans following INEC’s announcement of December 10 for the re-run legislative elections which coincided with the testimonial.
“We have decided to reschedule the Victor Ezeji’s Testimonial to hold on Dec. 17.
“The change in date will not affect the spirit and mood of the event as we will ensure a spectacular showing on the new date,” he assured.
Acheru said the football event would be colourful.
