Kolo Toure, Bony, Salomon Kalou and a host of other Ivory Coast players attended the funeral of Tiote.
Tiote died earlier in June after suffering a heart attack in a training session with his Chinese club, Beijing Enterprises.
After a memorial service in Beijing, the late midfielder’s body was flown back to Ivory Coast where his funeral held.
His friends and former teammates like Kolo Toure, Wilfried Bony and Salomon Kalou were present at the funeral which held on Sunday, June 19.
When his body arrived Ivory Coast, the likes of Bony was pictured helping to carry the casket at the Port Bouet Airport in Abidjan.
Full military honours were bestowed on Tiote at the funeral service which was also attended by former Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry.
Ivory Coast prime minister Amadou Gon Coulibaly as well as several members of the government, and Ivorian football federation officials were also in attendance.
The coffin of the former Newcastle United midfielder was covered with Ivory Coast’s orange, white and green flag.
His body was first taken to a mosque in the district of Riviera Golf where prayers were held.
