Ahead of the game, Amokachi wants the Super Eagles not to lose focus after their 2-1 win at Zambia.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will host their Algerian counterparts on Saturday, November 12 in matchday two of the World Cup qualifiers.
Ahead of the game, Amokachi wants the Super Eagles not to lose focus after their 2-1 win at Zambia in matchday one of the qualifiers.
“It’s not yet celebration time for the team considering the fact that our next month opponent are a better team compared to Zambia,” he told Soccernet.
“I am not trying to undermine the Zambian team, but the Desert Foxes seem to have experienced players who are plying their trade in some of the best leagues in Europe.”
The 43-year-old also wants the Super Eagles to pay attention to Leicester City stars, Mahrez and Slimani.
“Watching players such as Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani gives me a big scare because they are very dangerous and must not be given a chance in the 18-yard box,” Amokachi continued.
“I have no doubt that we have capable defenders in William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun who can match them strength for strength and in experience.
“The team must always watch every of their moves if they are to win that match at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo. We must also take every one of our goalscoring chances against Algeria.”
Nigeria lead the group with three points, Algeria and Cameroon joint-second with a point each while Zambia are bottom with zero points.
The winner of the group automatically qualifies for the 2018 FIFA World Cup holding in Russia.
