Ivory Coast forward Salomon Kalou is currently mourning the deaths of two of his family members.

Kalou lost his dad,  Antoine earlier in August 2016 after he suffered a heart attack while the forward's aunt died two weeks later.

The 31-year-old is still with his Bundesliga club, Hertha Berlin as he prepares for the funerals of his family members.

He will, however, miss Ivory Coast’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier clash against Sierra Leone in September.

"I'm travelling home to support my family," Kalou told German daily Bild.

"Of course, I am unbelievably sad and feel empty," he added, talking about the death of his father.

"Football is a therapy for me at the moment. It will take a while to get over this."

Kalou has two brothers and eight sisters from the same mother.

His brother, Bonaventure Kalou, also played professional football.
