Raheem Sterling Liverpool player named the 'most valuable young player in Europe'

A study complied by Soccerex 20- U-21 showcases the 20 most valuable young players in Europe

Liverpool young forward Raheem Sterling has been named the most valuable young player in Europe according to a new report.

The 20 most valuable young players in Europe was compiled in the Soccerex 20 U-21 report which take into account a variety of factors, from their club and international form to any potential injury problems, and even their club's recent ability to sell players for big money.

The perception of a player's market value, as indicated by newspapers and websites, were also considered, as they can influence a players actual value, as was the length of time remaining on their contract.

All the players had to be aged 20 or under on January 1 2015 to be considered eligible.

20-year-old Raheem Sterling is a subject of an interest from Manchester City and Chelsea tops the list as he is rated almost £35m.

Second on the list is Paris Saint-Germain defender, Marquinhos who is at £27.8m.

New Manchester United signing, Memphis Depay (£23.5m) Italian forward Domenico Berardi (£21.3m) and Jose Gimenezo of Atletico Madrid (£21.1m) make up the top five.

The top ten is made up by Hakan Calhanoglu of Bayer Leverkusen (£19.4m), Mateo Kovacic of Inter Milan (£18.5m),  Jose Gaya of Valencia (£18.3m), Luke Shaw of Manchester United (£18m) and Aymeric Laporte of Athletic Bilbao (£17m).
