Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was suspended after he flew to Italy for a party then arrived late for training the next day
Aubameyang was not in Dortmund’s matchday squad for their 1-0 win over Sporting Lisbon in the Champions League on Wednesday, November 2.
After the game, Dortmund’s manager Thomas Tuchel revealed that the forward was suspended by the club for ‘internal reasons’.
German newspaper, Bild, however, revealed that the 27-year-old was suspended from the team after he flew to Italy to party and returned late for training.
According to the German paper, the Gabon international made a trip to Milan on Monday, October 31 which was a free day for him.
The forward had flown to Milan in a private jet to attend the birthday party of a friend.
While he was not wrong for attending the part, the report says that Aubameyang stayed overnight in Milan and arrived 10 minutes late the next morning to training.
By staying overnight in Milan, the forward disobeyed club rule that states that players must be in the country a night before training or a game.
Dortmund according to report knew about Aubameyang’s trip to Milan from an Instagram post of a friend who revealed that the forward attended a party.
