According to Sports Illustrated, Patrick Vieira is set to take over as manager of New York City FC
Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira is in frame to be the coach of MLS side, New York City FC.
Reports in America have it that the Viera who is currently the coach of Manchester City's Elite Development Squad is set to be named the coach of the MLS side which is also the sister club of the Citizens.
Under current head coach, Jason Kreis the side are struggling in the MLS despite the purchase of the likes of Frank Lampard, David Villa and Andrea Pirlo.
They have lost 16 of 33 matches and lie eighth out of 10 teams in the Eastern Conference, 10 points from a play-off spot with just one game to play.
Sports Illustrated reports that the club is set to fire Kreis and hire Viera to take over.
If true, it will be Viera’s first coaching job in a first team.
