Istanbul Basaksehir FK beat off competition from the likes of Besiktas and Hamburg SV to sign Nigerian 18-year-old right-back Musa Mohammed
Flying Eagles captain Musa Mohammed has signed a three-year contract with an option for an additional year with Turkish club Istanbul Basaksehir FK.
IBB as the club is called are preparing for the UEFA Europa League campaign this coming season after finishing fourth in the Turkish Super Lig.
The ambitious club have built a new stadium and is said to snatched Musa Mohammed from the claws of fellow Super Lig club Besiktas where the Flying Eagles star has been training for several months.
The Turkish club also beat off competition from German Bundesliga side Hamburg SV and Rosenborg of Norway among several other top suitors.
Musa opted out of th U-23 camp in Abuja to sort out his future after an unsuccessful campaign with the Flying Eagles at the FIFA U-20 World Cup in New Zealand.
The 18-year-old led Flying Eagles to win this year’s African Youth Championship in Senegal and was also skipper when Nigeria won a record fourth FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE two years ago.
