MFM returned to winning ways after a home loss on the continent.
Zinte Udeh gave the home side the lead in the seventh minute when he converted a penalty from the spot.
Left back Julius Emiloju scored the second goal for MFM in the ninth minute as they went to half time two goals up.
Ikechukwu Nwani pulled one back for Nasarawa United in the 74th minute.
The goal will turn out not to be enough as MFM held on for the three points.
Back to back defeats for Akwa United as they lost 2-0 away to Rivers United.
Emeka Ogbugh scored the opener for Rivers United in the 31st minute when he converted a penalty after the referee ruled that he was fouled in the box.
Malachy Ohawume made sure of the result for Rivers when he scored a header in the 82nd minute.
