Kayode Olarenwaju Forward vows not to disappoint Nigeria after Super Eagles call-up

Austria-based Nigerian football Kayode Olarenwaju has vowed not to disappoint the national team after a Super Eagles call-up.

Olarenwaju who plays for FK Austria Wien has been included in the Super Eagles squad to face Senegal and Burkina Faso in friendly games later in March.

Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr game the forward a late call-up in place of injured Victor Osimhen who has suffered an injury.

An excited Olarenwaju is looking forward to linking up with the Super Eagles and making his debut.

I want to thank Gernot Rohr for his believe in me and trusting Young players. I won't disappoint Nigeria,” the 23-year-old said in a statement to Brilla FM.

The forward who was born in Ibadan, Nigeria began his career with Red Bull Ghana before stints at ASEC Mimosas and Swiss side FC Luzern.

He also played for Israeli side Maccabi Netanya before signing for Austrian side FK Austria Wein.

He represented the Golden Eaglets at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup before he was promoted to the U-20s.
