Kadiri Ikhana Veteran unveiled as head coach of Kano Pillars

Ikhana was unveiled by the club after he was appointed to replace former coach Mohammed Babaganaru.

Veteran Nigerian coach Kadiri Ikhana has been unveiled as boss of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) club, Kano Pillars.

Ikhana makes another return to his former side which he led to NPFL title in 2008.

He first became coach of Pillars in 1991, returned briefly in 1997 before leading them to the title in 2008.

The 64-year-old was on Tuesday, November 8 unveiled by the club after he was appointed to replace former coach Mohammed Babaganaru.

Under Babaganaru, Pillars finished the 2016 NPFL season in the seventh position.

Pillars will be hoping to reach higher heights under Ikhana who led them to league title in 2008, their first in history.

A day after that historic feat, the Edo State born coach resigned citing corruption in the game.

He has also managed more than 10 clubs in Nigeria including El-Kanemi Warriors, BCC Lions, Kwara United F.C., Sunshine Stars F.C., Sharks F.C., Nasarawa United, Giwa F.C, Shooting Stars and Enyimba F.C.

He led Enyimba to CAF Champions League glory in 2003.
