Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho branded referee Damir Skomina "weak and naive" for failing to award Chelsea a penalty in the first half of their 0-0 draw with Dynamo Kiev on Tuesday.

The Portuguese was last week handed a £50,000 fine and a one-game suspended stadium ban by the Football Association after accusing referees in the Premier League of being "afraid" to award his side spot-kicks following a 3-1 home loss to Southampton. He was particularly irked at being sanctioned while rival Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger escaped for using the term "weak and naive" towards match officials.

And in a nod to Wenger, Mourinho dragged up the phrase once again when asked to comment on a first-half incident in Ukraine which saw Cesc Fabregas seemingly felled by Dynamo defender Sergiy Rybalka.

Speaking to BT Sport, Mourinho said: "The referee was weak and naive. It was a big penalty.

"I do not understand what the referee behind the goal does " he doesn't make a decision.

"When it's 0-0 and such a penalty is not given it's a huge moment.

"Once more it was a game without luck. A little bit of luck and we would win.

"We have our destiny in our hands - qualification depends clearly on us."

John Terry was in agreement with Mourinho over the penalty incident but was keen to look forward to Chelsea"s upcoming fixtures.

"The first half was better than the second," Terry said.

"We created a few chances; Willian's free-kick that hit the bar and a penalty that was, for me, but was not given.

"But we move on. We will go back to the Bridge and move on.

"It's on us now. Maybe we could've got three points tonight. It's in our hands and we're comfortable with that."
