Jose Mourinho was charged for his comments about the referee after Chelsea's defeat to Southampton
The FA have charged Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho with misconduct in relation to comments she made about the referee after their 1-3 loss to Southampton over the weekend.
After the defeat, Mourinho criticised the referee saying his was afraid to give decisions for Chelsea during an epic seven minute rant.
The Chelsea manager fumed at the decision of the referee to book Radamel Falcao for diving with the score at 1-1 when Mourinho felt it should have been a penalty.
“The result 1-1 is a huge penalty and once more we don't get and a penalty is a crucial moment in the game with the result at 1-1, and I repeat that if FA wants to punish me they can punish me they don't punish other managers but they punish me, it's not a problem for me,” Mourinho said.
The FA have now decided that the remarks were improper and the manager has been charged.
