Just a year after rejecting a chance to play for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Bournemouth winger Jordan Ibe is ready to switch his allegiance to Nigeria.

Born Jordon Ashley Femi Ibe to Nigerian parents, the forward grew up in London and has already represented England at Under-18, U19 and U20s level.

He impressed for a while at Liverpool where he attracted attention from then England national team coach Roy Hodgson.

With hopes of a potential England, Ibe turned down to chance to play for Nigeria in September 2015.

“Jordon is willing to listen to what we have to offer,” a source close to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is quoted to say by the Mirror.

“We are hoping he finds the project enticing enough to dump England where he is a youth international and play for Nigeria at senior level.

Sunday Oliseh was coach of the Super Eagles and tried to convince the player to pledge his allegiance to Nigeria in 2015.

Oliseh met with the player in a bid to convince him to choose Nigeria over England but his appeal was turned down.

Ibe's father and Liverpool officials were present at the meeting but Oliseh took to Twitter to announce that the forward was prioritising his England career.

"Jordon Ibe's Family Informed me by a Telephone call, that He was giving priority to an England call-up. We wish them well," then Super Eagles manager wrote.

Ibe has played 11 Premier Leagues for Bournemouth so far this season, he is yet to score a goal.
