A U-20 football player in Tanzania Ismail Mrisho died on Sunday, December during a league match.

Mrisho was playing for Mbao FC against Mwadui FC in the Vodacom U20 league at the Kaitaba stadium in Bukoba when the tragic incident happened.

The young player according to reports scored a goal before he collapsed on the field.

The referee halted the game as medics immediately entered the pitch to attend to him.

Mrisho was then rushed to the Bukoba Provincial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

President of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Jamal Malinzi has also confirmed the death of the player.
