The Enugu State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Charles Ndukwe, disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Enugu on Monday.
Ndukwe said that Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi wanted all stakeholders in the state, Nigeria and in the Diaspora to be part of the reception.
“Our governor has planned a grand and all-inclusive reception for our victorious Rangers, which will hold between Dec. 19 and Dec. 20 at the Michael Okpara Square, Enugu.’’
According to the commissioner, Ugwuanyi is not leaving any stone unturned toward giving a befitting honour to the victorious players and officials.
“They have made Enugu State people and Igbos in general happy by winning the 2015/2016 NPFL trophy after 32 years.
“Past governors of the state, South East governors, national and state assembly lawmakers, political appointees and leaders of thought in the state are expected to be part of the grand reception in December,’’ he stated.
Meanwhile, players and technical crew of Rangers are expected to return to camping immediately in a location yet to be determined by the technical team.
According to Rangers Media Director, Foster Chime, the team’s Coach, Imama Amapakabo, is expected in Enugu on Oct. 31.
Chime noted that Amapakabo would be concluding issues relating to players to be retained, those to be placed on transfer market and programme for pre-camping.
“The Rangers management is also discussing with some partners and sponsors for the 2016/2017 Confederation of African Football and NPFL leagues.’’
