The team bus of Nigeria Professional Football League  (NPFL) side Heartland FC of Owerri was on Wednesday, September 14 involved in a road accident on their way to a game.

Heartland FC players and officials were on their way Maiduguri where they are to face El-Kanemi Warriors in a league tie.

Pulse Sports learnt that the accident happened around 3pm on Wednesday with some of the players and officials seriously injured.

The injured victims have been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The League Management Company (LMC), organisers of the NPFL are yet to notify of a change in the schedule of the fixture.

Heartland FC are 18th on the NPFL table with nine wins, 10 draws and 13 loses in 32 games.
