Godfrey Oboabona is not bothered about the snub and is fully in support of the invited Super Eagles players to beat Zambia.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will travel to Ndola to face Zambia on Sunday, October 9 in the match-day one of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
After being left out of Gernot Rohr’s squad for his first game in charge of the Super Eagles, Oboabona has also not been included in the team to play Zambia despite featuring in Rizespor’s five Turkish Super Lig games so far.
The defender though is not bothered about it and is fully in support of the invited players to beat Zambia.
"We just have to support those in the squad and pray they succeed by beating Zambia," the 26-year-old is quoted to say by Complete Sports.
"That's more important than any individual missing from the squad.
"I've my chances and I took them, so I believe under the new coach I'd get another to prove my worth.”
Oboabona last played for the Super Eagles in March 2016, as they lost 1-0 away to Egypt in a 2017 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
