Giwa FC Jos-based club returns to NPFL

Following the interim court order, the LMC have announced that they have kicked off processes to reschedule matches concerning Giwa FC.

Jos based side, Giwa FC are back in the Nigeria Professional Football league (NPFL) courtesy  of an interim order from the Plateau State High Court.

Giwa FC in May, 2016 were expelled by  the League Management Company (LMC) organisers of the league, from the 2016/17 season due to a breach of NPFL Framework & Rules as they failed to honour three cumulative fixtures without acceptable reason.

Following the interim court order, the LMC have announced that they have kicked off processes to reschedule matches concerning Giwa FC.

The LMC say they are taking legal advice on their next step of action.

Giwa FC were unable to honour NPFL fixtures against Wikki Tourist in Illorin, Akwa United and Enyimba which led to their ban from the league.

 

The Chris Giwa owned club was banished to Ilorin to play three consecutive home games after disturbances in its match day 12 game.

They were also fined the sum of N250, 000 as expenses for stadium hire, security and other logistics the LMC incurred for the match against Enyimba and also N10m for failing to honour that fixture with Enyimba, Giwa FC.
