The Greek government has postponed sports competition due to the death of a football fan, after he suffered head injuries in a clash with some fans of an opposing team

Kostas Katsoulis, 46, an Ethnikos Piraeus fan was confirmed dead in the hospital, from  a brain haemorrhage two weeks after the clash with rival fans at a third division match in Crete.

The reports state that four people have already been charged with murder following the September 15

The country’s deputy minister for culture and sports said the decision had been made "as a small token of respect to the memory of Kostas Katsoulis."

Other sporting events like basketball and handball matches have all been postponed, with football.
